Its developers then built a sister property on Hainan Island with 10 more courses. Mission Hills Shenzhen, home to 12 golf courses, overtook Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina in 2004 as the world's largest golf resort. Forget the old saying about Texas it seems everything's bigger in China. The funny thing is that three of the top four are all dug into foreign soil. The largest golf resorts in the world have an overwhelming American flavor. ![]()
